Cellulosic browning occurs when natural fibres (like cotton, jute, or linen) or jute carpet backings bleed lignin to the surface due to over-wetting, high alkalinity, or slow drying times. Actichem Brownaway is chemically formulated to target and reverse this exact oxidation process. By lowering the pH and breaking down the yellowed organic compounds, Brownaway restores original color and clarity to discolored carpet pile and upholstery fabrics without damaging delicate fibres.

Usage & Application Instructions:
Pre-Test Notice: Always pre-test in an hidden area for colorfastness, dye stability, and fabric sensitivity prior to full application.
1. For Cellulosic Browning & Yellowing Correction
- Ensure the carpet or upholstery is completely dry or extracted prior to treatment.
- Apply Actichem Brownaway neat or diluted 1:1 with clean water using a chemical-resistant trigger sprayer.
- Lightly and evenly mist over the affected yellowed or browned areas. Do not over-wet.
- Agitate gently into the pile using a soft carpet brush or horsehair upholstery brush.
- Allow to dwell for 5 to 10 minutes (you will observe the yellowing fade as it dries).
- Extraction rinsing is optional for light yellowing, but recommended for heavy browning using a neutral or acidic rinse.
2. For Coffee, Tea, Wine, and Urine Spot Removal
- Blot up any liquid spill or residue.
- Apply Brownaway neat (undiluted) directly onto the stain using a clean cloth or trigger sprayer.
- Allow 3 to 5 minutes dwell time. Blot working from the outside edge inward with a clean white towel.
- Rinse thoroughly using warm water extraction to prevent wicking. Repeat if necessary for severe tannin spots.
